Sewage & Contaminated Water Cleanup in Norwalk, CT

Sewage and black-water losses are contained, the materials the water touched are removed and disposed of, hard surfaces are disinfected, and the space is dried to a reading. The affected area is sealed off from the rest of the house. Porous materials the water reached come out and are bagged, with drywall cut to a margin above the visible line; hard surfaces are cleaned and disinfected. The space is then dried and read, and the containment comes down only when cleaning and drying are both finished.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

  • Mold Remediation

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.

Frequently asked questions

The basement takes water every big storm. Is drying enough?

Drying handles this event; it does not handle the pattern. The wet material is removed and the assembly dried and read as usual. But a basement that fills whenever the tide and the rain coincide is telling you the water is arriving from outside, and the base readings after the job are the useful measure of whether that is still happening.

Why does the bottom of the wall stay wet longest?

Because it sits closest to a water table that does not go away between storms. The upper wall dries at a normal rate while the base keeps being resupplied from the soil, so the readings there fall more slowly and sometimes stall. That section is read on its own and the base trim stays off until it holds rather than until the room looks finished.

September rain on warm ground. Does that matter?

It does, because the ground has no capacity left. By the end of summer the soil is warm and already holding water, so heavy September rain runs rather than soaks and reaches foundations quickly. The same storm in a dry spring would largely disappear into the ground, which is why the storm season rather than the rainfall total drives the losses here.
