Structural Drying & Dehumidification in New Britain, CT
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material. The wet area is sealed, air movers and dehumidifiers run as one system, and the material is read at marked points every day against a dry standard from an unaffected room. The equipment leaves on the readings rather than on a date, and the final readings are logged so the rebuild starts on a documented dry structure.

Often needed alongside
- Emergency Water Extraction
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows.
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
Frequently asked questions
Why is this room wetter than the cellar?
Because it sits outside the foundation and below everything else. It was dug back into the ground with whatever wall the builder thought sufficient, it has an earth or unsealed floor, and it has no heating and no ventilation. Every condition that keeps the main cellar reasonably dry is absent from it.
What does the condensation come from?
The rest of the house. Warmer air from the cellar moves into a room whose walls and floor are at ground temperature, and it gives up its moisture on those surfaces. That is why the walls run in spring and summer rather than in winter, which is the opposite of what people expect.
Is it worth keeping in use?
Only for things that do not mind it. With a sealed floor, a working door and a little ventilation it becomes an ordinary cool store, which is what it was for. Using it for anything paper, fabric or electrical without doing that work is how most of the damage in these rooms happens.
