After the drying
Mold Inspection & Testing in Lake Havasu City, AZ
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches. An inspection after a water loss confirms whether the assembly that got wet is dry now and whether growth started while it was not. Readings are taken in the material, cavities are opened where the readings point, and the result is a written scope of what is dry, what is not, and what has to be corrected for the repair to hold.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
On this site, inspection is the last check of a water job rather than the start of a separate one. Most people reach this page because something was wet, was dried, and a smell or a stain came back. The inspection answers whether the material is dry now and whether anything grew while it was not. Nothing here is medical advice; questions about health are for a clinician.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
It is bone dry here. Why did the equipment stay a week?
Because dry air finishes surfaces long before it finishes materials. A wall face in this climate can be dry to the touch within a day while the stud behind it and the slab beneath the floor are still holding water. Meter readings on framing and concrete decide the endpoint; how quickly the room feels normal is not a useful signal here.
Does the summer heat make drying faster or worse?
Both, in different places. Highs above 109 degrees mean the air can carry a great deal of moisture away, so open assemblies release quickly. But the same heat drives water deeper into absorbent material in the hours before anyone arrives, and it swells cabinet boxes and trim past recovery. Speed of drying does not undo what the heat already did.
With so little rain, what causes losses here?
Supply lines, water heaters and appliances, almost entirely. At about six inches a year, weather is rarely the source. That usually means clean water and a known start time, which helps, but it also means the failure is inside the envelope and has often run across the slab under flooring before anyone sees it at the edge of a room.
