24/7 Emergency
24/7 Emergency Water Extraction in Enterprise, AL
Standing water is pumped and extracted around the clock, before it climbs the walls and soaks the subfloor. Same-day response where coverage allows. Free water is pumped and extracted first, from hard floors and out of carpet and pad, before it climbs further into drywall and subfloor. The wet edge is metered and marked while the water is fresh, and drying equipment goes in the same day, because extraction is where the size of the job is decided.

Frequently asked questions
What is the chamber under the fireplace?
An ash pit. There is an opening in the floor of the firebox that drops into a masonry chamber in the base of the chimney, with a small door to clear it from outside or from a crawl space. It is a closed void with no drainage in it.
Why does water end up in there?
Because it is the bottom of the chimney. Anything getting in at the top, at a cap or at flashing, runs down inside the masonry and the flue and collects at the lowest point, which is the pit. It can hold a considerable amount without anything appearing in the room.
How is it dried out?
It is emptied first, through the clean-out door, which usually has to be freed up before anything else can happen. After that the surrounding masonry is read and dried, because the chamber will have been feeding moisture into the base of the chimney and the floor around it for as long as it has been full.
