Mold Removal & Remediation in Clarksburg, WV

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.

Independent local pros · containment before removal

Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.

Often needed alongside

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the wall wet only behind the porch?

Because of what is under it. The porch was built by filling between piers and casting a slab over the top, so there is a body of made ground held against the wall for exactly the width of the porch and nowhere else. The wet area stops where the porch does.

Why does that fill stay wet?

Because it is covered. Ground in the open dries between rain; ground under a concrete slab gets no sun and very little air, so once it is charged it stays that way. It holds what the summer rain puts into it and gives it to the wall rather than to the atmosphere.

What can be done short of taking the porch out?

Working from inside and managing the water above. The wall is opened and dried from the room, and the ground and paving outside the porch are looked at so less is getting under it in the first place. Removing a porch to reach the fill is a last resort rather than a first move.
