Contained removal
Mold Removal & Remediation in Orem, UT
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
What is lake bed silt?
The fine sediment that settled out of the ancient lake that once filled this valley. It is uniform and very fine-grained rather than coarse, which is what the gravel of the benches above is, and it drains slowly and holds a great deal of water in the spaces between its grains.
What does it do when it gets saturated?
Loses strength. Fine silt carries load well while it is drained and much less well when the spaces between the grains are full of water, so ground that has been stable for decades can start moving under a footing when a leak keeps it saturated.
Does drying the ground fix it?
Only partly, and expecting more leads to disappointment. The ground regains most of its strength as it drains, but movement that has already happened does not reverse, so the repair has to deal with what has settled as well as with the water.
