After the drying
Mold Inspection & Testing in Round Rock, TX
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches. An inspection after a water loss confirms whether the assembly that got wet is dry now and whether growth started while it was not. Readings are taken in the material, cavities are opened where the readings point, and the result is a written scope of what is dry, what is not, and what has to be corrected for the repair to hold.
Independent local assessors · no obligation to proceed
On this site, inspection is the last check of a water job rather than the start of a separate one. Most people reach this page because something was wet, was dried, and a smell or a stain came back. The inspection answers whether the material is dry now and whether anything grew while it was not. Nothing here is medical advice; questions about health are for a clinician.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
The tile looks fine. Does it have to come up?
Not always, but the slab under it still has to be read. Tile bonded to concrete survives water well, yet it also slows the slab from releasing moisture upward, so readings are taken at grout lines and at the floor edges. If the concrete will not come down to the dry standard with the tile in place, sections are lifted so it can.
How far does a floor-level loss spread in a slab house?
Further than the room it started in, usually. Water runs across a flat slab under carpet and pad until a door sill or a change in level stops it, so rooms with no visible water are commonly wet underfoot. The extent is mapped with a meter before anything is pulled, and the pad comes out across the whole wet area.
Do the kitchen cabinets have to come out?
The toe-kick area is opened at minimum. Cabinet boxes are usually pressed board and they wick water upward from the bottom edge, and the cavity behind the kick holds water where no air reaches it. If the boxes have swollen they are replaced; if they are sound, the kick is opened, the cavity dried and the run stays.
