After the drying
Mold Inspection & Testing in Harlingen, TX
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches. An inspection after a water loss confirms whether the assembly that got wet is dry now and whether growth started while it was not. Readings are taken in the material, cavities are opened where the readings point, and the result is a written scope of what is dry, what is not, and what has to be corrected for the repair to hold.

On this site, inspection is the last check of a water job rather than the start of a separate one. Most people reach this page because something was wet, was dried, and a smell or a stain came back. The inspection answers whether the material is dry now and whether anything grew while it was not. Nothing here is medical advice; questions about health are for a clinician.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
Should the air conditioning stay on while the house is being dried?
Usually yes, but not as the drying plan. Cooling holds the building at a workable temperature and removes some moisture, and shutting it off in September makes the space unusable within hours. What it cannot do is dry an assembly, and left to do the job alone it simply moves the water to the coldest surfaces it can find.
What drives the length of a wall drying run in September?
Seven to ten days is common, and the building stays closed for all of it. Outside air at that time of year would add moisture rather than remove it, so everything runs on equipment. Where the return-air chase was involved the duct work is cleaned and dried as well, which adds a day or two at the end.
Why is a room that never got wet being included in the drying?
Because the moisture went there. A wet wall raises the humidity of the whole conditioned volume, and the system carries that air to every register in the house. Cold surfaces in distant rooms then collect it. Those rooms are read with a meter and included if they show it, which is cheaper than coming back for them later.
