Mold Removal & Remediation in New Castle, PA

Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.

No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope

Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.

Often needed alongside

  • Mold Inspection & Testing

An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.

  • Structural Drying & Dehumidification

Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.

Frequently asked questions

Why do these chimneys pull away?

Because they are separate structures. The stack has its own footing outside the heated envelope, so frost reaches under it while the house's foundation stays warm. Each winter moves it a fraction, and because masonry does not move back, fifty winters produce a gap you can see daylight through.

Where does water in that gap go?

Inside the wall at every level. The gap runs from the ground to the roof against the end wall, so water entering anywhere along it gets behind the cladding and into the framing. Damage shows on the inside of that end wall, frequently in an upstairs room as well as downstairs.

Is sealing the gap the answer?

Only as a temporary measure, and it is worth knowing that before paying for it. The movement has not stopped, so a sealed joint opens again. The lasting repairs are a proper counterflashing that allows movement, or taking the stack down where it is no longer serving anything.
