After the drying
Mold Inspection & Testing in Connellsville, PA
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches. An inspection after a water loss confirms whether the assembly that got wet is dry now and whether growth started while it was not. Readings are taken in the material, cavities are opened where the readings point, and the result is a written scope of what is dry, what is not, and what has to be corrected for the repair to hold.

On this site, inspection is the last check of a water job rather than the start of a separate one. Most people reach this page because something was wet, was dried, and a smell or a stain came back. The inspection answers whether the material is dry now and whether anything grew while it was not. Nothing here is medical advice; questions about health are for a clinician.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Remediation
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a wall here take longer to dry than the same wall elsewhere?
Because it can only dry in one direction. Original wood siding under aluminum or vinyl leaves a cavity that has no meaningful path to the outside air, so every bit of moisture in the studs and sheathing has to come back through the board and into the room. That roughly doubles the time and makes the inside opening larger.
Does the new siding have to come off?
Usually not. Taking it off is expensive, rarely goes back well, and the wall can be dried from inside with a low cut and air moved through the bays. It gets pulled only where the sheathing itself is saturated over a wide area and readings stop falling, which is a judgment made at day four or five rather than on day one.
Does the uphill wall finish with the rest of the house?
Several days behind, and sometimes a week. A wall with earth against the outside of it stays at ground temperature, and cold masonry takes water up easily and returns it slowly. It is read separately from the other walls and the room is not signed off on the average, because an average hides exactly the wall that is still holding.
