Contained removal
Mold Removal & Remediation in Rahway, NJ
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.
The pro who inspects is the pro who quotes
Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
What is the reason for lifting the basement floor?
Because it is sealing the slab. The tile and its bed pass effectively no moisture, so concrete underneath holds what it took and gives none of it back into the room. Drying the air above a covered slab does nothing for the slab, so the covering comes up wherever the readings say the concrete is wet.
Can the readings be taken without lifting the floor?
Partly. Meters go in at the joints and at any loose tile to get a first picture, which is enough to decide whether the slab is involved at all. It is not enough to sign a floor off, because those dry readings come from the edges of a covering that is holding everything in the middle.
How careful does the removal have to be?
Careful enough that it sets the schedule. Floor tile of this age and the adhesive under it are handled as materials to be lifted intact and kept damp rather than ground or sanded, and that is slower than the drying that follows. Most of the time on these jobs goes into getting the covering off properly.
