Contained removal
Mold Removal & Remediation in Altamonte Springs, FL
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.
No obligation: the assessment comes before any scope
Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
Water came from the attic air handler. How much ceiling has to come out?
Enough to reach every wet framing member, which is usually wider than the stain. Wet blown-in insulation is removed first because it holds water against the ceiling board, then the truss bottom chords are read with a meter and dried until they hold at the dry standard. The ceiling closes after the framing is dry, not after the stain stops spreading.
Does concrete block have to be opened to dry it?
Not usually. Water sits in the hollow cores and leaves through the face, so the wall is dried in place with air moved across it rather than cut open. What does come out is the furring, the insulation board and the drywall fastened to it, since those hold water against the block and slow the whole wall down.
How long does a summer ceiling loss take to dry here?
Longer than the same loss in winter. Through the June to September wet season the outdoor air is already close to saturated, so a ceiling cavity cannot be dried by ventilation and the dehumidifiers carry the load. Plan on the equipment running several days past the point the ceiling looks dry from the floor.
