Contained removal
Mold Removal & Remediation in Concord, CA
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.
Independent local crews · scoped at the property
Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
What is different about the projecting section?
It is outside the house in every way that matters. The joists run out past the wall, the space between them is insulated and closed underneath with a soffit, and neither face of that assembly is in a heated room. A loss in the floor above it behaves nothing like a loss over an interior wall.
Why is it slow to dry?
Because there is no air on either side. The floor above is finished, the underside is boarded, and the cavity holds insulation. Where water reaches it, the only way to dry it is to open one face, and that means working outside from a ladder or taking up the floor in the room above.
How far does the wet area reach into the projection?
By metering from above and from outside, and frequently by opening a small section of the soffit. Water in the floor structure runs out into the projection and collects at the outer edge, which is the point furthest from where anybody would look. That edge is where the reading matters.
