Contained removal
Mold Removal & Remediation in Alhambra, CA
Growth and the material it grew into come out under containment, what remains is cleaned, and the assembly is dried and read before anything closes it in. The area is sealed and put under negative air, affected porous material comes out, and what remains is cleaned and treated. The assembly is then dried and read to the same standard as any water loss before it is closed, because remediation over a still-wet assembly puts the same growth back behind new drywall.
The pro who inspects is the pro who quotes
Remediation here is the tail of a water job: growth is what an unfinished drying leaves behind, and removing it without finishing the drying puts it back. The contractor establishes how far the growth extends and what moisture is still feeding it, removes what grew, and dries and reads the assembly before it is closed. The service note below covers the sequence in this city.
Often needed alongside
- Mold Inspection & Testing
An independent assessor confirms whether the assembly that got wet is actually dry, whether growth started while it was not, and how far it reaches.
- Structural Drying & Dehumidification
Sealed air movers and dehumidifiers bring framing, subfloor and drywall back to a measured dry standard, with daily readings logged from inside the material.
Frequently asked questions
How is the space under the floor reached?
Through a hatch cut in the floor inside the house, usually in a closet or a hall. There is no exterior opening at all on most of these, so every piece of equipment, every length of duct and everything that comes out goes through an occupied room.
What does interior-only access change?
The setup more than the drying. Protecting a route from the front door to a closet, and working through an opening a person has to fold to get through, takes far longer than working from a vent on the outside of a house. The drying itself is ordinary.
Is there a better season to work under the floor?
Not really, which is unusual. The mild winter means the space never freezes and the dry summer means it never properly dries, so the conditions under these floors are much the same in February as in August. Nothing is gained by waiting.
